HR is a large field of practice. People Operations is a component under the HR umbrella.

HR can be seen as an administrative, not holistic big picture approach to managing the workforce.

People operations is the process of building, executing , and managing a business operational framework, ensuring the organization's workforce and the supply chain or service offering is working in tandem.

It encompasses various functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, training and development, and compensation and benefits administration.

It also involves developing and implementing policies, processes, and programs that enhance employee productivity, well-being, and engagement. .

About, Sharon Salmon

Every person, team, and organization is unique. The first steps I take are:

  • Understanding the critical needs of your organization through a fairly quick review process.

  • Define and align the strategy and game plan with the organization’s available resources.

  • Implement forward-thinking best practices for administrative needs, behavioral/coaching, and scaling.

  • Consistent check-ins and agility, especially in startup environments.

The High Top HR Approach

“Stakeholders make up a company. They include all the people who impact and are impacted by a business. We must honor them as people first before treating them according to the role they happen to be playing.”
